JVE Technologies Supplemental Service Plan (Comprehensive)

This plan is designed to provide the customer with a budgeted amount for all maintenance and repairs, with exception of lost data or misplaced/lost software CDs and licenses. The plan requires that a PowerVar line conditioner be installed on each covered workstation and that a PowerVar line-conditioned battery backup be installed on each covered file server. Please not that the cost of the Power/Var equipment is included in the cost of this service plan.

This comprehensive supplemental service plan runs concurrent with and is contingent on the manufacturer's Extended Coverage Service Package being in force.

What Is Covered

  • Labor associated with the removal and replacement of any failed hardware component, whether or not that component is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
  • Labor required reinstalling the windows operating system, if the hard disk drive is replaced.
  • Labor required restoring any and all data files that are contained on the client's backup media.
  • Technician time required to reconfigure the workstation for network and internet connectivity.
  • Time required contacting the manufacturer, securing the Return Authorization, and packaging and shipping the failed component.
  • Shipping charges.
  • Packaging materials.
  • Other out-of-pocket costs related to the securing of the Return Authorization.
  • The cost of replacement components that are excluded from the manufacturer's warranty coverage due to neglect, external damage as the result of electrical issues, or any other provision of the manufacturer's extended warranty.
  • Regularly scheduled on-sire preventive maintenance of all covered hardware.
  • Downloading and application of software and hardware updates, "bug fixes" and security patched.
  • Regularly scheduled remote diagnostics of the converted hardware, including backups and security.

What is NOT Covered

  • Media, such as Zip disks and backup tapes.
  • Other consumables, such as printer ribbons, toner cartridges, drums, etc.
  • Lost data, unless it can be restored from the customer's backup media.
  • Reinstallation of software for which the customer does not have the original software media and/or license. However, if the customer is able to secure replacement software, JVE will reinstall it under the terms of this comprehensive service plan.
  • Any external devices that are not considered to be part of the computer, such as battery backup units, cable modems, printers, scanners, etc. However, many of these can be added to this comprehensive service plan for an average cost of approximately $100.00 per device per year.

Please note that these costs include the purchase and installation of PowerVar line conditioning equipment. If PowerVar equipment is already installed, appropriate pricing adjustments will be made.
